Just Getting Started? These are the Best Lash Extensions Products for Your Kit!

Whether you’re new to lashes or just new to London Lash, you may be looking at all of the products on offer, and wondering to begin, we get it, it’s a lot to take in! Lucky for you, we’re here to help you decide what to add to your basket on your very first visit!

    Lash Extension Glues

With lash glues, it’s hard to say ‘you should buy this’ because there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The reason there are so many lash glues in the London Lash store is because there are different glues tailored to different experience levels, room conditions, and preferences.

What we will say is that Lady Bond has been in our lash collection since the very beginning of London Lash (that’s since 2014!) and is great for lash techs of all levels! If you’re in doubt though, you can always grab a few samples of our glues and see which one you stick with (pun sort of intended)

    Lash Tweezers

Again, this comes down to personal preference and how you like to hold your tweezers specifically when isolating lashes or picking up your extensions. There are a couple of staples though, in our opinion, so if you’re really not sure try:

Curved Isolation Tweezers - these are a really nice angle to isolate with and generally mean you keep your wrist in a nice comfortable position.

Multifunctional Tweezers are pretty much a MUST of any tweezer collection. As the name would suggest they do it all - isolate, pick up classics, make volume fans up to 3D, and they’re perfect for sticky checks.

Fine Tip Volume Tweezers are a bit pricier, but are so necessary for creating volume lash sets! Curved tweezers or even Multifunctional Tweezers might seem like a good option for creating fans but they’re just not as sturdy as tweezers designed and tested to be used specifically for volume lashes.

The best part about our tweezers? They all hand checked and tested for quality, so you’re always getting the best lash tweezers on the market!

    Pretreatment

However you slice it, good pretreatment is a must if you want your lash extensions to last. Whether you have a one step routine or you opt for our tried and tested 5-step routine largely comes down budget - not all lash techs have the budget for 5 pretreatment products when one will do the trick (though there are benefits to the full routine as each product serves a specific purpose) Depending on your budget, there are three options for you:

    Foam Cleanser

A simple lash shampoo applied with a cleansing brush will clean your lashes and eyelid area enough for your lashes to stick and your eyepatches to stay in place, generally speaking. Be sure to rinse the eyes fully before you start working to ensure there is no residue and you’ll be okay.

    Protein Pads, Cleanser and Primer

Protein Pads are like tiny little facial cleansing wipes, getting rid of makeup residue, sebum, dust, dirt - the works. Make sure to thoroughly cleanse the lash line and the eyelid area. Next, apply a drop of Cleanser onto two microfibre brushes and cleanse the lashes from root to tip, focusing on the glue bonding area. It’s really important that you avoid the skin with Cleanser as it’s alcohol based so can be a little drying. Lastly, Apply a drop of Primer to two new microfibre brushes and apply it in the same way as you did your Cleanser. Primer rehydrates the lashes after the use of Cleanser so it’s really important that you use it if you’ve used Cleanser, otherwise your glue just won’t behave!

    The Ultimate 5-Step Routine

This might sound like overkill, but it’s the BEST routine for great retention, and it’ll make your clients feel properly cared for as well! This routine is option 1 + option 2 and finished with Booster, which is the holy grail in lash extensions retention! Booster is alkaline based, so it opens up the hair cuticles slightly, giving your lash glue more surface area to bond with.

    Lashes

Here we are again with another ‘personal preference’ caveat. Lashes come in different finishes so you have a choice based on whether you (or, rather your clients) have a preference for a shiny, dramatic finish or a semi-matte more natural finish.

Two things to consider though, is that while our Mayfair collection is well loved by lash techs all over the world, Chelsea lashes have been part of our lash collection since the very beginning of London Lash…

All of our lashes come in a wide range of lengths, curls and thicknesses so you can be sure to find exactly what you need for each and every client!

If you still have questions don’t hesitate to reach out to our amazing Customer Service team, or if you’re ready to bite the bullet and get all stocked up, a great place to start would be with a pre-built eyelash extensions kit!
